Hours after beating the Peyton Manning led Broncos, running back Michael Turner found himself in handcuffs. The Falcons won 27-21 and Turner contributed 42 rushing yards and a touchdown. The game was a huge mess thanks to the replacement refs, but that is for another article. Turner was initially pulled over in his Audi for speeding at around 4:00 am. The game only ended about an hour before that. He was reportedly going 97 MPH in a 65 MPH zone. While he was being pulled over, police suspected Turner had been drinking. He refused to take a breathalyzer, probably a good sign that he was drunk. He was taken into jail, but released two hours later on $2,179 bond. The Falcons’ had this to say, “We are aware of the situation involving Michael and are in the process of gathering more information. Because this is now a legal matter, the club will have no further comment at this time.” Another athlete, another dumb decision. Get a driver.
