The Seattle Seahawks were so close to having a well needed bye this week. Instead, they head to Philadelphia to battle an even more injured Eagles team. The Eagles are riding a “hot streak” with four wins to end the season over their NFC East opponents. The Seahawks are a much tougher test with a quarterback who always seems to be able to make the right play when it’s needed.

Russell Wilson

Overshadowed by Lamar Jackson‘s electric year, Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson had an MVP season. Wilson finished the season completing just over 66 percent of his passes for 4,110 yards including 31 touchdowns to just five interceptions. Most of those yards coming under pressure, something Wilson never shies away from.

On the other side, this will be Carson Wentz’s playoff debut for a tough Philadelphia crowd. If he doesn’t play well, he can expect to hear it from Eagles fans. Adding on to the pressure, the Seahawks will have Quandre Diggs returning. Diggs suffered a high ankle sprain, but when he was on the field he was a difference maker. Pass rusher Jadeveon Clowney who missed Seattle’s first game against Philadelphia also returns for this game.

Philly’s Injuries

The Seahawks are missing a lot of players due to injuries, but the Eagles wish their injury report was as short as Seattle. As Carson Wentz makes his playoff debut he will be missing many of his starting cast members. The team got good news that tight end Zach Ertz was cleared to play, but he will definitely be limited. Having a rested Diggs shadow Ertz all game could eliminate Wentz’s favorite target from the game.

The Seahawks defeated the Eagles in Philadelphia earlier this season when Philadelphia was a little closer to full strength. The Seahawks play well on the road, going 7-1 this season.
