With the holidays approaching, you are bound to see some hideous Christmas sweaters out and about, who knows, you may even be lucky enough to be invited to an ugly Christmas sweater party! You know which sweaters I’m talking about. They’re itchy, kind of bright, have way too many sequins on them, and if you’re really going for the ugliest out there, the sweaters may even light up and SING. While they may be a bit too much, they are always a funny conversation starter and will definitely make a statement.

By this point of the article, you may be asking, “um, this is a sports website, why am I reading about something fashion related?” Well, that’s because ugly Christmas sweaters aren’t just a thing for grandparents or parties, with an athletic take on the classic, they are now arena and stadium appropriate! Now, not only can you have Rudolph or candy canes on your sweater, but you’ll also have your favorite NHL or NFL teams logo. Some of the sweaters can be as personal as having your favorite players last name and number on the back of the sweater, just like a traditional team jersey or t-shirt.

The cool part about these sweaters is that though they’re geared towards Christmas, they’re patterns are versatile enough to be worn throughout the winter season. They’ll definitely contribute to keeping you warm at winter hockey games and remaining football games this season.

If you want to try out these sports inspired ugly Christmas sweaters and maybe have an ugly sweater party at a game this year rather than a bar, they’re available for purchase on most major sports retailing websites. You can check out some of the stores they’re available at as well as the mini collage showing a select few sweaters AND some warm hats you can pair them with by using the click through links below!
