Usually when people hear “franchise record,” they usually think about something great happening to their favorite team but not the 76ers. The Philadelphia 76ers set a record of 16 straight losses and are the fifth team in NBA history to hit that mark.

The Saturday game against the Dallas Mavericks was not actually too far from them winning but Tyson Chandler’s 20 points and 13 rebounds gave Dallas that extra push to beat Philly.

Chandler of course gave his two cents after that game.Ā “It’s a team you feel like you’re not supposed to lose to, no offense to them,” he said.

The 76ers sacrificed a season of wins to try to rebuild their foundation. Their roster is full of draft picks and rookie undrafted players that hardly have any experience at all. If two years in the NBA can be considered as some kind of veteran of the game, then the only person that could even qualify in that category is Luc Mbah a Moute.

Philadelphia’s coach, Brett Brown, is not too worried about his team being able to bounce back after being stuck in the rut.

“I’m fine and I don’t want those guys worrying about any record,” Brown said. “We just have to keep our group together and move them along. I have so much respect for that group because their spirit has not been broken.”

He also knows how hard his players have been working and with all the changes, wins are bound to happen soon.Ā “We’re heartbroken we haven’t won,” he said. “But down deep I feel like I know something that’s going on that I like. I think they will be rewarded for the work they’re putting in. I hope it’s sooner than later to validate their efforts.”

The 76ers will try their hand at turning their luck around on Monday against the San Antonio Spurs. If they lose once again, their record could potentially beat the Miami Heat’s from 1988-89 season.
