Paul George is set to make his long awaited season debut tomorrow when Indiana takes on Miami.  George has missed all of this season after suffering one of the most gruesome injuries in sports history. The injury occurred during a scrimmage for Team USA last summer.  George shattered his fibula and tibia in his right leg.

George made the announcement on his Instagram account, posting a photo of his sneakers and the caption, “Game shoes! Time to get some burn Sunday night!!! Can’t wait!”.

The Pacers made an official announcement shortly after with George saying, “The recovery has been a long process and this is another step in the process. I thank everyone, my family, friends, doctors, our training staff, coaches, the entire Pacers family for their support and encouragement. I’m excited, but at the same time I’m aware I’m still in a rehab stage and will continue to work to get back to full strength.”

Since the injury on August 1st, George has vowed to return to the court as soon as he could.  He began practicing with the Pacers in late February and always had goals of returning this season.  With only a few games left, the Pacers are currently in the tenth seed of the Eastern Conference, one and a half games behind the Miami Heat for the eighth seed.
