You’re a young successful football player. You’re 23 years old and women are throwing themselves at you. You are New England Patriots star tight end Rob Gronkowski. Gronkowski has been known for enjoying his life and getting heavily criticized for it. Last year, he went out the night of his team’s loss in the Super Bowl. He came under fire for not being ‘upset’ enough about the loss. I wasn’t upset with Gronk for partying after the game, but I’m a Giants fan so I wasn’t even thinking about him.
However, Gronk’s antics have put him in the line of fire once again and I have to say I can understand why people are upset. Gronkowski missed five games in the regular season when he broke his forearm late in a game against the Indianapolis Colts. He returned just in time for the postseason, only to re-break the same arm and come out in the early minutes of the game against the Houston Texans. While most players were in New Orleans over Super Bowl weekend, Gronkowski went to Las Vegas where a video was captured of him dancing and wrestling and FALLING ON HIS HEALING BROKEN ARM.
Now Gronkowski is just making himself look bad along with the organization that pays his $54 million salary. While he is only doing the immature things normal 23 year old boys do, he is not a normal 23 year old. He in in the public light, representing a billion dollar business. Sorry Gronk, but its time to tone it down and worry about staying healthy for a full year.
