If there’s one thing that anyone who knows me will tell you, it is that I hate Greg Hardy with every single bone in my body.  Deadspin managed to get a hold of the photos of Hardy’s victim,Nicole Holder, stemming from the vicious assault that led to Hardy’s arrest. Holder has seemingly vanished and refuses to even acknowledge the case. She was a victim that got overshadowed by a “tough guy” who ended up with a four-game suspension instead of a lifetime ban or perhaps jail time like anyone else who isn’t a professional football player who puts their hands on another individual.

The one thing that really seems to bother most people including myself is Greg Hardy’s consistent denying that he did anything wrong. Now that the pictures have surfaced showcasing Ms. Holder’s body with many marks and bruises on it, it’s hard to believe anything that Hardy has said. No longer can Greg Hardy pretend that he was a victim and say that he did not lay a hand on Ms. Holder and no longer can he parade around like he is the God’s gift to football and most notably God’s gift to the Dallas Cowboys.

The Dallas Cowboys, now there’s a team that will defend Hardy repeatedly. As of currently, the Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has released a statement on the pictures. It is clear they will continue to stand beside Hardy in all he does and will continue to praise him for being a “great leader” and a “passionate player” while simultaneously ignoring the reason why he was suspended in the first place. Hardy does not deserve a roster spot on the Cowboys or any other NFL rosters. He should have been cast out like Ray Rice, but because all Jerry Jones seems to care about is the latest and greatest, the Cowboys decided to pick him up.

If there’s one thing that can be taken away from this whole ordeal, it’s that the players are not guys to be worshiped and be seen as figures to be recognized. When someone like Greg Hardy is allowed to compete in the NFL with almost no consequences, that is what all of the teams and the NFL broadcast out to the world. As long as you can play football, you’re allowed to pretty much do anything but kill anyone and there will be a place for you no matter what.
