Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck_1380727017755_1030922_ver1.0_640_480NFL owners seem to do more trash talking then any player on the field these days.  First it was Jerry Jones, the owner and general manger of the Dallas Cowboys, who loved to fire up his players by bad-mouthing division rivals.  Now, it is Indianapolis Colts’ owner Jim Irsay.

Irsay commented on Peyton Manning and the time he played for him in Indianapolis.  Manning and the Broncos head to Indy this Sunday so this is just the hype they were looking for.  In summation his comments were that Manning only won one Super Bowl title while others around him won more.  He also said that it was Peyton who told him to pursue Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck.  Many saw Irsay as trying to take a cheap shot at the future Hall of Fame quarterback.  It was also quite confusing considering Irsay is planning an over the top pre-game tribute to Manning.

Over the past 12 hours, Irsay has gone on the attack to defend himself and his comments.  ESPN analyst Chris Mortensen got into the mix and threw his own dig into the mix.  After appearing on ESPN to talk about Peyton’s return to Indianapolis, Irsay tweeted this,Screen shot 2013-10-16 at 2.03.36 PMThis tweet then prompted Mort to tweet this,Screen shot 2013-10-16 at 2.00.30 PM

We get it.  You want every person in America to tune into Sunday Night’s game.  We all will, you can stop doing this childish nonsense!
