The most controversial commentator, is also the one who is always jinxing teams.  That’s right, I just called Skip Bayless a jinx.   If he ever picks your team to win, be worried. Need some examples?  Here you go…

1. Tim Tebow

Skip LOVES him some Tebow.  Okay, everyone may have hopped on the bandwagon last year, but nobody more so than Skip. He was ready to put him in the Top 5 quarterbacks, saying how clutch he was.  No, Skip, no one was more clutch than Eli last year.  So, what happened once Tebow got Skip’s support?  Well, we all know that Tim went to the Jets and how well their season is turning out. Instead of saying well maybe I overestimated Tebow’s ability as a quarterback, he started the #freeTebow movement on Twitter.  The movement is asking for the Jets to release him so he can go to another team and thrive.  Yeah, I do not see many teams showing any interest in the guy nor the media storm he brings with him.

2.  Dallas Cowboys

If we all lived in Skip’s world, Tony Romo would be MVP and the Cowboys would be winning the Super Bowl every year.  Well, in reality, the Cowboys have lost almost all hope in making the playoffs and Romo has played, well like Romo.  Skip tweeted this out right before the Thanksgiving matchup of the Redskins and Cowboys: “RG3 will put on a Thanksgiving show back home in Texas. But Romo will put on an even bigger one.”  Well, RG3 did put on a show, but Romo failed to even show up.  Skip, you are killing these Cowboys! Stop rooting for them and maybe they will actually look like a formidable opponent in the NFC East.

It seems that after the Redskins’ big win, Skip has been all about Robert Griffin III.  He even tweeted out a video showing his support for RG3 on Monday.   Of course he would because Skip cannot stand the New York Giants.  Jealous maybe that the Giants have crushed the Cowboys’ playoff hopes so many times.  Bayless will never give the Giants any credit and look how that turned out last season?  So, maybe Washington can kiss their playoff hopes goodbye after all the support their new “fan” is giving them.

Another team who should be worried?  The San Francisco 49ers led by Colin Kaerpernick.  Skip used to be an Alex Smith supporter, but with how good Kaepernick has been he has become a turncoat and joined a new bandwagon.   Hopefully, the 49ers switch back to Smith before Skip’s jinx knocks them out of the playoff picture.  Diehard fans beware, you never want this guy on your team’s side.

  1. I love Skip Bayless and I enjoy his outside the box commentary, he is part of the reason I try to do what I do, “go outside the box” on opinions or analysis. Yet I feel you 100% that we can move the Madden Curse over and start the Bayless jinx, haha. Let’s be honest though Kaepernick will either fail or succeed depending on how fast or slow defensive coordinators get tape on him and see what he doesn’t do well. So less jinx more adaption, and yes I’m a niner fan so I’m hoping your wrong. -Jason

  2. the 49ers are now cursed and I blame Skip!

  3. […] Not to mention, the Redskins and particularly RG3 are about to start suffering from the Skip Bayless curse.  Don’t believe me?  Check out my article on the one fan nobody should want: here […]
