It looks like the New York Jets have finally pulled the trigger on a deal that will send superstar cornerback Darrelle Revis to Tampa Bay. Â While both sides are waiting on Revis passing a physical, the fact that he is taking a physical shows how close this deal is to being done. Â If Revis does leave, it will signify that the Jets are not competing this year and are more interested in gathering as much young talent as possibly. Â It is definitely the right decision as it is clear to anyone who watches football that this team was never going to make the playoffs with or without Revis.
A physical is incredibly crucial as Revis suffered a torn ACL last season. Â If he does pass the physical, the Bucs are getting a shutdown corner which is crucial in a league that relies on deep passes. Â However, if he does not pass this could be disastrous for New York as the deal will not go through and Revis would be physically unable to participate. Â Getting rid of Revis might help the Jets become less of a media circus and more of a team looking to bounce back after an embarrassing season. Â However, this is the Jets and Tim Tebow is somehow still showing up to practices for them so maybe the media circus is not going anywhere after all!
