Earlier today, Baltimore running back Ray Rice arrived in a New Jersey court hand in hand with his new wife Janay Palmer.  Rice is facing one charge of third degree aggravated assault after being arrested for allegedly assaulting Palmer at a New Jersey casino.  He plead not guilty to the charge and has applied for a pretrial intervention program.  Prosecutors have offered Rice and his lawyers a plea deal that would allow him to avoid jail time.
If Rice is not approved for the program, he will head back to court on May 29th. Â The running back will still likely face discipline from the NFL. Â Video surfaced that showed Rice allegedly dragging his then fiancee’s lifeless body out of an elevator. Â Palmer was also charged the incident.
