Very scary news coming out of Charlotte. Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton was involved in a serious car accident near Bank of America Stadium. There was another car involved, but no word on the other driver.
Information is still unclear as to what happened, but pictures show the car on its side. Firefighters and ambulances showed up on the scene with Newton leaving on a stretcher. EMTs say Newton was able to communicate which is a great sign. The Charlotte Observer snapped a picture of Newton sitting up before being loaded into the ambulance which is another very positive sign. The Panthers just tweeted out that Newton suffered two broken bones in his back. He is said to be doing well, but will remain in the hospital overnight.
