Dear Greg Hardy,

Hey, how are you? I imagine your response would be something with profanity or maybe a Marshawn Lynch type statement, but I’m not here for pleasantries. I’m here to talk to you about how you’re embarrassing the Cowboys franchise, yourself and by association me among many other points. Mr. Hardy or Kraken, whichever you prefer, please make sure to sit down while you’re reading this or not, I honestly don’t care.

Let’s start with your domestic violence case which you seem to try to deflect all the attention away from. Let’s just say, I don’t believe the act that you’re putting on about it. You act as if you’re innocent when the NFL did an investigation that clearly proved otherwise. Maybe instead of acting like you never participated in something like that, you should probably be mature and admit your wrong doings.

Speaking of women, I’d also like to address your comments about Tom Brady’s wife, Gisele Bundchen. You won’t talk about your own problems with women, so you decide to talk about someone else’s significant other?  The one chance that you had to actually redeem yourself, you managed to completely ruin. That’s not to say that I’m not surprised about it, but you had so much potential to be a decent human being, but you being yourself, you took the “high road” and decided to talk about Tom Brady’s wife…classy! Let’s not forget about your “guns a blazing” comment too which was almost bad enough until Jerry Jones said guns aren’t allowed on the field before defending you, so maybe you and Jerry Jones should become co-owners of the Cowboys while you two are agreeing on so much.

Most recently, you have been making your presence on the Cowboys sideline a distraction rather than I don’t know…doing your job perhaps? Regardless, the fact that you had the audacity to blow up on one of the Cowboys staff really speaks volumes to me. If you don’t respect the staff, why would they want to waste time trying to help you or teach you anything when clearly you think you know best? Then, of course, there’s your dispute with Dez Bryant which is the ultimate no-no. If you haven’t heard, Dez Bryant is kind of a big deal on the Cowboys roster and pours his heart and soul into the team which is something that I’m sure you’ve never experienced and probably won’t.

Then there’s the way you handled the situation which once again was really enlightening. Your attempts to act like the situation didn’t even happen is pretty bad considering that it was being recorded on live TV, in case you forgot about that. Answering every question with “No comment” or “Next question” didn’t actually do anything and made you look like a complete idiot, which is nothing new. However, I’m sure this won’t be the last time that you have a dispute with a teammate and the franchise decides to act like you did nothing wrong because, at this point, they’d rather have you to help the defense and brush your suspension and allegations under the carpet.

Here’s the root of the problem, it’s you. You’re the one who is embarrassing not only yourself but also the franchise and the fans which most won’t fess up to, but some part of them knows and so do you. At age 27, I’d imagine that you would at least have some respect or maybe even a smidge of dignity, but with each passing week and every single game that goes on, I find the answer to my question. You’ll be the gasoline that burns the Cowboys down into the ground after their playoff appearance last year and I’m not going to sit around, fanning your flame and pretend that I care about you as a person or a Cowboys player. I have no respect for you and I never will, no matter how much the Cowboys try to paint you as a “passionate guy”, so have fun destroying the football team that I love and have defended for so long, but I’m done defending a team that doesn’t see how toxic their own players are.

Most of all, I’m done acting like you being on the Cowboys doesn’t bother me and I’ll fight that until something gets done which might be for the rest of your career. In the meantime, I have this letter to show exactly what you don’t want to hear.

From,

Rebecca
