Most athletes know to say as little as possible to the media.  However, emotions can get the best of us at times and athletes are only human after all.  After Ohio State’s stunning loss today against Michigan State, running back Ezekiel Elliott let out his real feelings.

He told reporters, “”How we lost, I just feel like we weren’t put in the right opportunity to win this game, we weren’t put in the right situations to win this game.  I don’t think Michigan State was better than us. They weren’t. We didn’t execute.”

Elliott seemed more disappointed than angry with head coach Urban Meyer’s decision saying, “You guys saw that on that drive, and we had a lot of momentum. Honestly, we didn’t see those plays at all for the rest of the game. Those plays weren’t called anymore. I asked for those plays to be called, and they weren’t. It just hurts. It hurts a lot.”

He then continued by saying this was his last game for the Buckeyes and he would be declaring for the NFL draft.  Elliot may have a point; he only had 12 touches during the game.  However, it was announced that the Heisman hopeful had been in the hospital earlier in the week after a scratch on his leg became infected.

Just moments before Elliott made this remarks, Ohio State quarterback Cardale Jones seemed to make his declaration for the NFL as well.

However, he tweeted after that,

So it is still unclear if that was his way of actually declaring.   Either way, the Bucks definitely need to forget about this miserable loss and focus on next week’s game big game against Michigan.
