This morning, the NHL announced that the Stanley Cup Finals would open on Wednesday, June 3rd.  The Stanley Cup Final will match the winner of the Eastern Conference Final against the winner of the Western Conference Final.

The series between the New York Rangers and Tampa Bay Lightning will go the full length of seven games on Friday night, as will the series between the Anaheim Ducks and the Chicago Blackhawks, which will close out on Saturday. Each best-of-seven series is tied 3-3, with the Rangers and the Ducks owning home-ice advantage.

The team that earned the greater number of standings points during the regular season will have home-ice advantage in the Stanley Cup Final, hosting Games 1, 2, and if needed, Games 5 and 7. The other team will host Games 3,4, and 6 if needed.

The Rangers held a League-high with 113 points, followed by the Ducks at 109, Lightning at 108, and Blackhawks at 102.

The start time for all Stanley Cup Final games will be 8 p.m., ET. National broadcast information will be released when available.
