Big trading moves in the NHL. The Los Angeles Kings made a 2 for 1 switch with the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Kings acquired Southern California native, forward Trevor Moore while Toronto will take two players, forward Kyle Clifford and goaltender Jack Campbell

The trade came as a shock to LA fans since both of these players have been with the organization for years. In particular, Kyle Clifford who was a part of the two Stanley Cup championships back in 2012 and 2014. Goaltender Campbell was a rising favorite when starting goalie Jonathan Quick, was out for injury. He was making his name with the Kings and proving himself fairly quickly. “Career record of 20-25-5 with a 2.58 goals-against average and a .916 save percentage,” according to the Maple Leafs website.

24-year-old Trevor Moore was too making his mark in Toronto after joining the Maple Leafs as a free agent in 2016. The Los Angeles Kings are ranked last in the Pacific Division, winning 28 out of 58 games. While the Maple Leafs are ranked third in the Atlantic Division, winning 30 games out of 58. It seems as it will definitely be a change of pace when Moore was in good standing in Toronto and in LA he will be playing catch up. On the plus side, he is home and is able to play for a team he was a fan of.

Although it has been a short week since the trade and the new players have adjusted quickly. Jack Campbell is already starting in goal for the Leafs and so far so good. Taking a W with his new team in his first game as a Leaf. It seems like both Clifford and Campbell will excel in Toronto.
