Jonathan_Martin_AWOL_OTAs_Dolphins_2013It was the story everyone seemed to have an opinion on this season.  Does bullying exist in NFL locker rooms?  According to Miami Dolphins offensive tackle Jonathan Martin it did.  Martin made headlines during the season when he walked out of practice after being fed up with heckling from his teammates. One name that constantly came up, fellow offensive lineman Richie Incognito.  Angry and racist voicemails were uncovered, but Incognito explained that was how the two spoke to each other.

Now, Martin said in a sit down interview with Tony Dungy, he explains that he felt “trapped” and it was not an isolated incident that drove him to walk out on his teammates.   Martin explained, “One incident doesn’t bother me. It was the persistence.”  He felt the right decision was to remove himself from the decision.

Dolphins owner Stephen Ross stated that he does not expect Martin nor Incognito to be with the team next season.  The NFL launched an investigation into the matter and the findings are expected to be released very soon.
