The checkered flag has been waved and Jimmie Johnson wins this year’s Daytona 500! Â It looked like it could have been anybody’s race to win, but Johnson turned it up at the end. Â Danica Patrick was in the top 5 for most of the race thanks to help from fellow teammate Dale Earnhardt Jr., but sadly fell to the back of the pack in the last lap. Â She did place eighth in the race which is a huge accomplishment. Â It is the highest a woman has ever placed in Daytona history!!! Â Here is the official top 10 finishes: Â 1. Â Jimmie Johnson, 2.
