All the troubled NFL players really need to take a page out of JJ Watt’s handbook. Â He is never in the media for getting arrested. Â Instead he is always spreading joy to those less fortunate; whether it be the children of Newtown or one of his many fans.
Recently, he made another fan’s dream come true by spending the day with him. Itzy Cragen is a quadriplegic who lives in Houston and is one of Watt’s biggest fans. Â Cragen was struck by a car and has been in a wheelchair since he was a toddler. Â However, he loves to watch Watt and the Texans; frequently yelling out “JJ Swatt!” Â Cragen’s nurse, Eran Melinik, wrote a Facebook post asking Watt if he could find time to spend with Cragen.
After the post was shared by thousands of people, it made its way to JJ himself. Â Watt responded, “We will make this happen” . Â Never one to make false promises, Watt came through and Itzy got to spend time with his favorite player! Â Watt posted this picture on his Twitter account of the two at what appears to be Reliant Stadium where the Texans play.
JJ Watt continues to be a shining example of what an athlete is about. Â It is about using your platform to make other’s lives better even if it is just for a few minutes. Â He continues to show his big heart and it is impossible to root against him. Â The Texans have an incredibly special player on their hands!
