Just a short time after playing a game, his 1,500th of the season, while battling the flu and reaching a milestone in the same night, Jaromir Jagr managed to record yet another important career moment last night at Prudential Center in New Jersey.

During a New Jersey Devils home game on Saturday night against the Philadelphia Flyers, not only did the Devils win, but Jaromir Jagr also went on to score a hat trick. It was the 15th hat trick for the 42 year old right wing, and he also became the oldest person in the NHL to record one, erasing the record set in 1969 when Gordie Howe recorded a hat trick at 41. Jagr’s three goals during the game upped his career total to 714 goals, just three goals behind Phil Esposito before he replaces him for fifth all-time.

Jagr is described by opposing teammates as classy and hardworking, and though other teams know how good a player he is and that he is competition, he is still somebody that they can look up to.
