Everyone had had an opinion on the comments made by disgraced Clippers owner Donald Sterling.  Sterling has been banned for life from any involvement with the Clippers and dragged through the mud by society.  The woman who is heard on the tapes with Sterling, V. Siviano, has had he sit down interview to try and defend Sterling.  His estranged wife, Shelly, recently sat down with Barbara Walters who tried to blame his words on early-set dementia.

Now, he will get his own chance to defend his tarnished name. Sterling did his first interview since the release of the tapes with CNN’s Anderson Cooper.  Sterling released a statement to Dujour magazine earlier in which he said he “wished he paid her off” when referring to Stiviano.  Never did he apologize for his words even after he admitted that it was his voice on the tapes.

He is singing quite a different tune now, however.  Sterling asks for forgiveness saying he is a “good member” who made a “terrible mistake”.  On the tapes, he refers specifically to Magic Johnson.  When asked about it, Sterling said, “If I said anything wrong, I’m sorry.  He’s a good person. I mean, what am I going to say? Has he done everything he can do to help minorities? I don’t think so. But I’ll say it, he’s great. But I don’t think he’s a good example for the children of Los Angeles.”

He vows he will never do it again and it was his only mistake in 35 years.  Listen Mr. Sterling, plenty of people make mistakes and do not make vile and racist comments.  Leave with whatever dignity you have left and go enjoy the rest of your life.  The full interview airs tonight at 8PM on CNN.  Below is a preview of the interview.
