It has been a forgettable season so far for the New York Knicks, but for Carmelo Anthony it has given him a moment history. Â In tonight’s game against the Charlotte Bobcats, Anthony dropped 62 points, a new record for Madison Square Garden. Â The previous record was 61 points held by Kobe Bryant.
From start to finish it looked like it was Melo’s night. Â After the first quarter, he had 20 points and at halftime he had 37 points, including a half court shot to end the first half. Â Despite blowing out their competition, head coach Mike Woodson left his star in the game, only taking him out when he eclipsed Bryant’s record. Â Anthony gave Knicks fans something to finally cheer about after an abysmal first half to the season.
