Due to the current scene in Baltimore this week, the Baltimore Orioles will be playing their Wednesday game against the White Sox without admitting any fans.

The first and second games of the series were each postponed due to the safety concerns that aligned with the protesting taking place across the city. Protesting is occurring in Baltimore in regard to the death of Freddie Gray. He died after suffering a spinal injury while in police custody.Ā

They have yet to announce whether the media, officials or game-day staff will be admitted. This is not the first time that a game has been played without any fans, but it is rare. Soccer teams around the world have been known to close their doors as punishment to fan violence.

Additionally, the team went ahead and announced its series against the Tampa Bay Rays this weekend will be played in Tampa. The Orioles will be playing as the home team and will bat second.Ā All the fans who had purchased tickets to these games have an opportunity to exchange their tickets for any other Orioles home game ticket on a dollar-to-dollar basis.
