So who made the best catch this year? Rookie sensation Mike Trout? Experienced outfielders BJ Upton or Josh Hamilton? Nope Pittsburgh Pirate Travis Snider. In a game that really meant nothing other than the possibility of the New York Mets having a 20-game winner, Snider gave this game some excitement. Going back on a fly ball hit extremely deep by Mike Baxter, he scaled the wall to make an amazing catch. Announcers had already called that ball gone, but Snider brought it right back in. He even received a standing ovation from the New York fans. Pittsburgh currently leads the Mets 3-2 in the top of the fourth. Dickey is still chasing his 20th win and possibly the Cy Young award. Expect to see this catch all over Sportscenter. So how is Dickey doing in his quest? Well he just recorded his ninth strike out to bring up the Mets in the bottom half of the inning.

  1. This might be a biased opinion seeing as I’m an Angels fan, but I think Trout’s was better. He didn’t have time to climb the wall and stick his glove out, he just had to jump and hope he timed it right, and he did. And he was SO high up the wall it was crazy. But yes, that was a really nice catch by Snyder.
