Cam Newton is having a really good season and he is having a lot of fun doing it.  The Panthers are 14-0 after surviving a close one against the New York Giants.  In that game, Newton threw for five touchdowns and marched his team down the field to set up the last second game winning field goal. Newton has been having performances like that all season, making his a clear candidate for the MVP award.

Newton has to be a strong candidate for the most valuable player currently in the league. When top receiver Kelvin Benjamin went down before the season started with a torn ACL, nobody expected much from the Panthers offense.  Now,they sit just two wins away from a perfect regular season. Newton has turned Ted Ginn Jr. into his favorite target and the two have been locked in all season.

The Panthers have a top defense in the league, but the leap in maturity by Newton is what has them on this incredible run.  His leadership shows as he went over to calm down cornerback Josh Norman after a heated battle with Giants receiver Odell Beckham Jr. last Sunday; Norman and Newton had gotten into it themselves during training camp. Combined with his 98.9 passer rating and seven rushing touchdowns makes Panthers quarterback the MVP of this season.  Also important, Newton is having fun doing and is not afraid to show it!
