The New York Yankees sit back on top of the standings and they are doing it without Derek Jeter, Mark Teixeira, Alex Rodriguez, and Curtis Granderson. Â It is quite impressive that this team has been as resilient as it has been and even more impressive that they sit ten games above .500. Â However, we should not be that surprised considering how good the Yankees pitching, starting and bullpen, have been. Â Mariano Rivera has looked twenty years younger this year. Â That is what makes tonight’s game so exciting as Yankees ace CC Sabathia and King Felix Hernandez face off. Â Sabathia has struggles at times this year with a 4-3 record. Â Hernandez is 4-1 with a 1.13 ERA at Yankee Stadium which is extremely impressive in a park that loves giving up home runs. Â A big boost could be on its way for the Yankees as Curtis Granderson could be available tonight
This should be a great game to watch as Felix looks to dominant the Yankees once again. Â If Hernandez pitches like King Felix we could be on no hit watch. Â CC has struggles with his command and velocity and while the Mariners lineup is nothing that blows you away, if they can get one run that could be all Hernandez needs. Â Yankees or Mariners- who you takin?
