sanchez-fumblePeople thought the New York Jets were clueless when they signed Tim Tebow.  Never to be outdone, they made even dumber moves this offseason that make last year look like a Super Bowl contender.  The Jets have been in the headlines even before free agency with their insistence on trying to trade away their best player, Darrelle Revis.  Except, the Jets never told Revis that he was on the trading block and he found out when we all found out!  Typical for the Jets, but now they could lose their best player on both offense and defense.  While trading Revis might make sense since the team says they are rebuilding this year, if they do not do it by tomorrow they will owe him a roster bonus of $2 million.  Again, typical for the Jets.

In free agency, the Jets have let safety Laron Landry, tight end Dustin Keller, running back Shonn Greene, and defensive tackle Mike Devito walk.   They have made some moves, but none of them seem to address any of their needs.  They picked up another below average quarterback in David Garrard and running back Mike Goodson who rushed for 221 yards and ZERO touchdowns all of last season.  Goodson was drastically overpaid which is again typical for the Jets.  As if those moves are not bad enough, they want to add ANOTHER average quarterback in Kevin Kolb.  So that is four quarterbacks and they are still thinking about drafting Geno Smith!

The Jets need someone who is going to catch the ball from one of these five guys.  Yeah, Santonio Holmes is till on the roster, but who else is lining up?  We saw what the Jets have in their system last year when Holmes went down and it was bad, almost unbearable to watch.  Who is going to play defense on this team?  Is Rex planning on suiting up? Everyone blamed Mike Tannenbaum for all of the Jets’ failures, but he is gone and things have only gotten worse.  I expect the Jets to give us more embarrassingly bad moments that will help everyone forget about the butt fumble.
