The World Baseball Classic is normally a lot of fun for fans all over the world.   Last night alone brought the excitement of baseball early.  In the Canada-Mexico game we saw the competitive side turn a little ugly when a bench clearing fight erupted.  Canada was up big, but decided to try a bunt for a base hit.  It was nothing illegal, but I guess some might consider it a slap in the face like you’re already winning no need to try and be fancy.  Mexico’s third baseman, Luis Cruz, did not like the bunt and told his pitcher to hit the next batter as payback.  Pitcher Arnold Leon swiped batter Rene Tosoni with the first two pitches before ultimately hitting him in the back with the next pitch.  Tosoni clearly angry about this walked up to the mound to confront Leon when all hell broke lose.

In some positive news, Team USA won last night after getting down early thanks to Mets third baseman David Wright.   Wright came up to bat in the fifth inning with the bases loaded.  Wright really got a hold on one and sent it soaring into the seats for a grand slam!  That put America up 6-2, a lead they held on to the rest of the game.   America takes on Canada tonight.
