The Golden State Warriors have been on fire since the NBA season started. There were predictions on how long their undefeated season would last  It did end, but the Warriors are still breaking records and with superstar Stephen Curry at their helm, it doesn’t look like Golden State will be losing anytime soon.

Monday’s game for the Golden State Warriors meant multiple things for the team.  Their game against the Atlanta Hawks ended with a final score of 102-92 and made the Warriors record a whopping 50-5, making them the fastest NBA team to get to 50 wins. They surpassed the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls who held the record at 50-6, led by the one and only Michael Jordan.  A part of that Chicago Bulls 95-96 team is connected to the Golden State Warriors in Warriors’ head coach Steve Kerr; Kerr played for the Chicago Bulls from 1993-98. He has been the head coach since 2014 and helped  lead the Warriors to a championship last year.

However, the real superstar of the team is Steph Curry. Curry has had one of the best seasons of his young career, even breaking some of his own records on Monday. Last season, Curry broke the record for most consecutive three-pointers in a game, breaking the record with 27 games. On Monday, however, Curry broke his own record by recording the most consecutive three-pointers with 28 games. There’s no telling how high that number could go with the way that Curry has been playing this season.

While Curry was excited after the game, he didn’t let it linger too long. He’s ready to move onto their next challenge and hopefully their next record, “Fifty wins is great…but we’ve got to keep plugging away and staying hungry because nobody wants to talk about that in June.” Regardless of what Curry says, it is a good assumption that the Warriors will go to the NBA Finals and possibly end the season as back-to-back champs!
