It has been another NCAA tournament filled with madness. Who would have thought a number eight seed would be facing off against a number seven seed for the final matchup?  Not many, until you find out that the two teams are Kentucky, ranked number one during the preseason, and UConn, a team led by superstar Shabazz Napier.

This time last year UConn was deemed academically ineligible to compete in the NCAA Tournament and Kentucky was out of the NIT Tournament.  Both teams struggled during the season and were given little to no hope of making a run during the tournament.  However, both of these teams proved why no team should ever be counted out in the tournament.

Kentucky has had a wild ride during the month of March with freshman Aaron Harrison hitting not one, not two, but three game winning shots. Kentucky head coach John Calipari spoke about his clutch shooter, “The biggest thing is he’s not afraid to miss.  He’s OK with it. He’s comfortable in his own skin. … If you’re going to make those kind of shots, you absolutely cannot be afraid to miss them.”

UConn went to overtime during the first round of the tournament, but have only caught fire since.  They have had two very convincing wins against Florida and Michigan State, two teams considered favorites to win the entire tournament.

Both teams have broken people’s brackets, but have provided some of the best games in recent NCAA history.  Both teams have the talent to win and both teams have the confidence that they will win.  UConn vs. Kentucky- who you takin?
