After months and months AND MONTHS of talking about it, it appears DeflateGate is finally over with Judge Berman overturning Tom Brady’s four game suspension.  Brady was suspended four games for his role in the matter. However, U.S. District Richard M. Berman found that NFL Commissioner was using “his own brand of industrial justice“, when punishing Brady for his role in the deflation of game balls below the allowed limit during the 2014 AFC Championship Game.  Brady has never admitted any guilt in the matter.

Patriots Nation was incredibly happy with the news.  Owner Robert Kraft released a statement today expressing his satisfaction with the judge’s findings.  He wrote, “Yet, with absolutely no evidence of any actions of wrongdoing by Tom in the Wells report, the lawyers at the league still insisted on imposing and defending unwarranted and unprecedented discipline. Judge Richard Berman understood this and we are greatly appreciative of his thoughtful decision that was delivered today. Now, we can return our focus to the game on the field.”

Unfortunately, not everyone was pleased with the ruling.  Commissioner Goodell announced the NFL will be appealing the decision, meaning we will still have to hear about this during football season.  The appeal will be handled in the U.S. Appeals Court and could take months to be done.  Brady will still be able to play while the appeal is still pending.  The Patriots open the season one week from today against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
