Allen Iverson

He has technically been out of the league for three years, but Allen Iverson has announced that he will officially retire from the NBA this week.  Iverson tried to make a comeback last season, but there was not much buzz and he was only offered deals to be in the D-League.  Pretty harsh considering Iverson is credited with bringing back the cross over. Iverson was one of the most exciting players of all time; always playing with heart and passion.  He would give his team all that he had and injuries never held him back.

Despite never winning an NBA title, Iverson will more than likely still be in the Hall of Fame.  The 11-time All-Star was one of the great point guards who would also drive to the rim.  Unfortunately, he has been in the media more for his legal and personal issues recently. He was recently at a Philadelphia Sixers game where he spoke about his future, “My No. 1 goal is trying to accomplish to be the best dad that I can. And if basketball is in my near future, then God will make that happen. But if not, I had a great ride and I’ve done a lot of special things that a lot of guys have not been able to accomplish and people thought I couldn’t accomplish.”  Iverson’s ex-wife is demanding more child support from him for their five children.  Iverson last played in Turkey in 2011.
