Whoever said the offseason was boring must not have gone on social media.  We already has emoji fights after DeAndre Jordan decided he didn’t want to go to Dallas and instead re-signed with Los Angeles and today Shaq started with the Bulls legends.  It started innocently enough with the post on Instagram comparing the Lakers all-time greats and the Bulls all-time greats.

This caption, however, is where the beef started.  Shaq claims that the Lakers would beat the Bulls by fifty which clearly upset Michael Jordan fans, including former teammate Scottie Pippen who was also in the photo.  Pippen decided to fire back and quit playing the hypothetical game.

Pippen was right by Jordan’s side when Chicago won its six titles in the 90s, including two three peats.  Of course the fight didn’t end there, it only got nastier.  No longer was the fight about which team would win, but instead an attack on each other’s playing career. Shaq came back calling out Pippen on always being a sidekick in Chicago, something no one can honestly argue with.  Who wouldn’t be forced to play second fiddle to the greatest player ever?  He didn’t stop there, he posted another picture of Pippen with the caption “#GreatestSidekickEver” which included a picture  of Pippen on a T-Mobile sidekick, if you don’t know what that is then you’re too young to enjoy this fight!

Pippen took one final shot at the big man and of course he hit him where everyone can agree was Shaq’s worst moments on the court; free throws.  We all watched Shaq attempt to shoot free throws and normally miss.  He could do some impressive things, but free throws was definitely not one of them.

I think I speak for all sports fans when I say, thank you for the entertainment Mr. Pippen and Mr. O’Neal.  If only Jordan had an Instagram account…

UPDATE: If you thought this fight was over, apparently you were wrong.  Pippen took one final shot at Shaq.  Apparently being called a sidekick didn’t sit too well with the 6-time NBA champion.
