It has been a while since a two-sport athlete has been in the news.  Michael Jordan tried, and failed.  Bo Jackson had the talent, but an unfortunate injury caused his career to be cut short.  Only Deion Sanders has been able to make the transition from one sport to another professionally.  Now, after just winning the Super Bowl, Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson has reported to Surprise, AZ for Spring Training with the Texas Rangers.

The Rangers selected Wilson in the Rule 5 Draft earlier this year.  While he may have dressed the part, Wilson is not expected to get any at-bats.  He was seen, however, fielding ground balls at second base with the team.  He played second base at North Carolina State, but decided to play football professionally.  In 2011, the Colorado Rockies drafted Wilson and he played in their farm system before deciding to play football at Wisconsin. Wilson has said in the past he does not regret his decision to play football over baseball at all.
