San Antonio’s WBA Junior Welterweight champion Mario Barrios is scheduled to fight Gervonta Davis Saturday, June 26th on Showtime.
The network announced Davis’ championship fight with Barrios earlier today as the centerpiece fight of a 9-fight matchup from May until September.
The 25-year-old Barrios (26-0, 17 knockouts) holds substantial height and reach advantages against Davis. He is seeking to defend his title after defeating Batyr Akhmedov in September of 2019 via unanimous decision, and Ryan Karl in October of 2020.
The 26-year-old Davis (24-0, 23 KOs) will jump up two weight classes in an attempt to become a three-division champion.
