If New Orleans comes away with a win, they will clinch the division title and the number two seed in the NFC playoffs.  However, after the Rams upset the Saints last week, if they lose today the Panthers can clinch both the title and the number two seed next week.  Basically, whoever wins today will win the division crown.

The Panther have become the biggest surprise this season.  Starting the season, their head coach Ron Rivera was more than likely to be fired before the end of the season, now they have the chance to clinch a first round bye in the playoffs.  Their defense is extremely formidable and possibly one of the best in the leagues.  They are able to get to the quarterback and force turnovers.  On offense, they are able to run the ball and quarterback Cam Newton is making much better decisions in the pocket.  Gearing up for this game, the Saints made two roster moves. They released kicker Garrett Hartley who missed two field goals against St. Louis and signed Shayne Graham.  After playing a part in the four sacks on Brees, left tackle Charles Brown was benched and now rookie Terron Armstead will start in his place.  A very risky move as they head into the biggest game of the season.

The Saints are one of the best teams in the league, but they are hard to trust when they are away from the Superdome.  The Panthers are another team that excels at home which gives them the slight advantage in today’s matchup.  The biggest matchup to watch will be Terron Armstead against Greg Hardy who has eight  on the year.  The rookie has a big challenge today protecting Brees’ blind side.  Saints vs. Panthers- who you takin?
