San Antonio– The Spurs are hiring 14-year NBA veteran and television analyst Brent Barry to a front-office position, ESPN senior writer Adrian Wojnarowski reports.

The former shooting guard played four seasons and won two championships with the Spurs in 2005 and 2007. He averaged 7.2 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.9 assists during his time on the championship team. Following his championship win, Brent and his father Rick Barry were the second father-son duo to win an NBA Championship as a player.

For the past few years, Barry made appearances on NBA TV’s show The Starters with his own segment: “The Bone Zone”, along with other appearances as a TV analyst.

It is reported that Barry has been interested in a position with the team since his departure in 2009. RC Buford and Gregg Popovich are “enthusiastic” about bringing Barry into the team’s management.
