Panthers quarterback Cam Newton is back this week and adding fuel to this game’s fire, referring to Lions’ defensive end Ndamukong Suh, “Donkey Kong Suh”. Â Newton was sidelined last week after suffering a rib injury during preseason. Â In his absence, Derek Anderson led the Panthers to a win, but this time they will face a very tough defensive front and a very high-powered offense.
The Panther defense will have a tough day trying to contain Calvin Johnson who had an explosive game against the Giants to open the season. Â The Panthers are a much tougher defense, but containing Johnson is no small task.
After hearing the calls for Roger Goodell and/or Carolina to take a stand, defensive end Greg Hardy will NOT play today.  The Panthers have deactivated Hardy.  Hardy was convicted of domestic abuse, but has filed an appeal for a jury trial. That will be a major loss for Carolina, but one that had to be done.  Panthers vs. Lions-who you takin?
