NFL: Green Bay Packers at Detroit LionsHappy Thanksgiving! There is nothing better on Thanksgiving than some turkey and a Packers-Lions game.   Two teams that have made it well known that they do not hang out together after the games and are playing for a division title.  The Packers are still without star quarterback Aaron Rodgers who is still recovering from a fractured collarbone, and instead will start their old friend Matt Flynn.

The Lions have so much talent on their team, but they always seem to find a way to not make the playoffs.  They have arguably the best wide receiver in the league, and a defense known for their “aggressive” style of play.  That defense is led by DE Ndamukong Suh who has become infamous for his style of play especially on Thanksgiving. Two years ago, he stepped on Packers center Evan Dietrich-Smith’s arm during the game.  Packers’ Josh Sitton came out publicly to bash the Lions entire coaching staff for allowing their players to play “dirty”.

He told ESPN, “They go after quarterbacks. Their entire defense takes cheap shots all the time. That’s what they do. That’s who they are. They’re a bunch of dirtbags or scumbags. That’s how they play, and that’s how they’re coached . . . It starts with their frickin’ coach. It starts with the head coach, Schwartz . . . I wouldn’t want to play for him. It starts with him, and their D-coordinator and their D-line coach. They’re all just scumbags and so are the D-line.”

That is definitely going to be bulletin board material for Detroit who is in need of a win.  With a win, they can go two games ahead of the Packers who are just trying to stay afloat until Rodgers gets back.  This game is built on passion and motivation.  Both of these teams know that they have to win this game because neither will make a run for a wild card spot.  I think the Packers win this one.  The Lions are not good in big game spots despite having some major play makers on their team.  Green Bay gets the win and hands the ball off to Rodgers to take over for the rest of the season next week.  Packers vs. Lions- who you takin?
