hotread21s-1-webAnother player suffering from “putting foot in mouth” disease.  This afternoon, while on the radio station WFAN, New York Giants captain Antrel Rolle was asked his opinion on the alleged bullying situation concerning Jonathan Martin and Richie Incognito.  Rolle answered a little honestly, and it made everyone look at him like did he really just say that?  When asked his opinion, Rolle stated, “Was Richie Incognito wrong? Absolutely.  But I think the other guy is just as much to blame as Richie, because he allowed it to happen.  At this level, you’re a man. You’re not a little boy. You’re not a freshman in college. You’re a man.”

Yes, you should stand up for yourself, but to use the word “blame” when referring to Jonathan Martin’s role in the incident is a little bizarre.  Nobody knows exactly what happened in that locker room or the interaction between Incognito and Martin, but if he did send those text messages and voicemails threatening his life, there is no way Martin is to blame.  Not one to back track, Rolle took to his Twitter account to explain what exactly he meant by his comments.  Screen shot 2013-11-05 at 6.58.24 PMScreen shot 2013-11-05 at 6.58.23 PMScreen shot 2013-11-05 at 7.02.09 PM

The Giants defense came under fire last year when a video surfaced of defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul throwing corner back Prince Amukamara into a cold tub as part of rookie hazing.  It was immediately brushed off as typical things that go in the locker room.  Amukamara vehemently denies the issue as being a case of bullying.
