The Vancouver Canucks’ fourth line forward, Brandon Prust, will miss 4-6 weeks of game play due to an ankle injury he received on Tuesday’s game against, his former team, the Montreal Canadiens.

Prust received his ankle injury, which has not yet been specifically identified, during a collision in the second period with Canadien’s forward, Bryan Flynn, when, while chasing the puck Prust was caught up in Flynn’s stick.  Prust immediately left the ice and headed for the locker room with a mere 2:30 remaining in the second period.

While it was initially believed that Prust’s ankle injury would be passing and would only keep him from skating for a few days the injury proved to be more serious than expected when the Canucks announced an injury update, via Twitter, that Prust’s ankle injury will keep him out of the lineup for 4-6 weeks.

Prust has two assists in the Canuck’s 5-1 victory over the Canadiens. The Canuck’s received their first home win of the season while ending the Canadiens’ francise-record nine straight consecutive wins to start a season.

Prust is expected to return to the ice in late November, at the earliest, but it is more likely to see his return in December.
