Columbus Blue Jackets

Blue Jackets winger Markus Hannikainen has been placed on injured reserve on Nov. 30 as the result of a shoulder injury he sustained during the team’s game against the St. Louis Blues on Saturday, which was also his NHL debut. Hannikainen will be sidelined for two months, as revealed by general manager Jarmo Kekalainen, in order to give him time to recover.

 

Dallas Stars

Stars defenseman, Jason Demers, has been sidelined with an upper body injury since Tuesday. Demers’ injury is not considered to be too serious and he is currently listed as being on a day-to-day basis.

 

Edmonton Oilers

Oilers forward, Benoit Pouliot, was sidelined on Wednesday and did not play in the team’s game against the Boston Bruins due to an illness. Pouliot is on a day-to-day basis and is expected to return to play shortly.

 

Florida Panthers

Panthers defenseman, Alex Petrovic, will be sidelined for at least a week as he recovers from a foot injury he received in the Panthers’ game against the Washington Capitals on Oct.31, after blocking a shot from Capitals forward, Alexander Ovechkin. Petrovic left the game after the hit but returned to play in the next 11 games, but his foot injury worsened.  The defenseman will take at least the week to assure he can fully recover from the injury.

Center Nick Bjugstad was sidelined on Tuesday and is now expected to miss the Panthers’ next two games as he is being evaluated for his upper body injury. The severity of Bjugstad’s injury will be determined after a full evaluation, but he is currently on a day-to-day basis.

 

Nashville Predators

Predators centerman, Mike Fisher, has been placed on injured reserve as a result of the lower body injury he sustained in the Preds win over the Arizona Coyotes on Tuesday. The Coyotes’ Martin Hanzal checked Fisher into the boards, causing him to fall to the ice, his right skate coming into contact with the boards after he fell. He left the game following the fall and is expected to miss the Pred’s next four games.

 

New Jersey Devils

Devils forward Jiri Tlusty has been placed on injured reserve as the result of a shoulder injury. Tlusty’s injury does not appear to be severe in nature and he is expected to return to play following his recovery.

 

New York Rangers

Rangers defenseman Kevin Klein has been sidelined for 2-to-3 weeks as the result of a strained  abdomen muscle he received in the first period of the Rangers’ win over the Carolina Hurricanes on Monday night.

Center Derek Stepan will be sidelined for 4-to-6 weeks after breaking ribs during the team’s game against the Boston Bruins. Stepan left the game after receiving an unpenalized late hit from Bruins forward Matt Belesky.

 

Ottawa Senators

Senators’ defenseman Chris Phillips is on injured reserve as the result of a back injury. Phillips is skating regularly but is not ready for play.  He has no set return date and is out on an indefinite basis.

Forward Milan Michalek has been sidelined as the result of a hand injury. Michalek fractured his right index finger and will be sidelined indefinitely.

 

St. Louis Blues

Blues forward Vladimir Tarasenko was sidelined on Wednesday due to illness. Despite this, the forward practiced on Thursday and is expected to return for play in time for the Blues’ match with the New York Islanders.

 

Tampa Bay Lightning

Lightning center Tyler Johnson did not skate Wednesday and is still considered to be day-to-day after being sidelined since November 27th due to an undisclosed injury.

 

Toronto Maple Leafs

Leafs forward Joffrey Lupul has been placed on injured reserve as the result of a lower body injury. He is listed on a day-to-day basis and Leafs coach Mike Babcock has stated that Lupul is expected to be out at least ten days.
