Arizona Coyotes

Defenseman Zbynek Michalek was sidelined on Thursday and will not play in the team’s game against Columbus because of a lower-body injury. Michalek is day-to-day and is expected to return to play soon.

Forward Anthony Duclair did not play on Thursday night due to an illness, but is expected to return to play soon.

Goalie Mike Smith underwent surgery for a core muscle injury on Tuesday and will be sidelined for 8-10 weeks as he recovers from his successful surgery. Smith had missed two games and was placed on injured reserve before it became known that he needed surgery. Smith will return to play following recovery which is estimated to be sometime in March.

Boston Bruins

Forward Zac Rinaldo was placed on injured reserve on Tueday as the result of an upper-body injury. Rinaldo finished the team’s Monday night OT loss without any obvious injuries but was involved in a small fight early in the game. He is expected to return to the ice shortly.

Calgary Flames

Forward Michael Frolik was sidelined on Wednesday due to an upper-body injury. The exact nature of Frolik’s injury has not been revealed but he is going to be examined by doctors later in the week; Frolik is listed as “indefinitely” out of play.

Columbus Blue Jackets

Defenseman Jack Johnson was sidelined on the Blue Jacket’s Thursday night game as the result of an upper-body injury, but he is expected to return to play soon.

Fellow defenseman David Savard was sidelined on Thursday night’s game as the result of a lower-body injury. Savard is expected to return to play soon.

Edmonton Oilers

Forward Rob Klinkhammer was sidelined on Thursday night and did not play in the Oilers’ matchup against the Blackhawks. It is not likely that he will be in the lineup for the team’s next game after tweaking the same ankle he had injured earlier in the week. Klinkhammer is expected to return to play following the healing of his ankle.

Defenseman Oscar Klefbom was sidelined on Saturday and will miss the next two games as the result of a hand injury. Klefbom has a broken knuckle and is day-to-day. The earliest he is expected to return to the ice is the Oilers’ game against the Jets.

Florida Panthers

Defenseman Steven Kampfer was placed on injured reserve on Monday as the result of a lower-body injury. Kampfer is day-to-day and is expected to return to play soon.

Center Derek MacKenzie was sidelined on Saturday because of a lower-body injury. Mackenzie sustained the injury in the Panthers’ game against the Boston Bruins on Saturday when he made a hit on Bruins defenseman Dennis Seidenberg in the second period. He is expected to return to play shortly.

Los Angeles Kings

Forward Trevor Lewis was placed on injured reserve on Monday because of an upper-body injury. Lewis is reportedly feeling better and is expected to return to play shortly.

Forward Kyle Clifford was placed on injured reserve because of an upper-body injury. Clifford has missed the last three games as the result of this injury and will now miss more.

New York Rangers

Backup goaltender Antti Raanta was sidelined, and pulled out of the team’s Thursday night game against the Minnesota Wild. At the end of the first period Wild defenseman Marco Scandella fired a slap shot that hit Raanta’s mask, just above the cage. He remained on the ice until trainers escorted him to the locker room; he did not return to the game. The nature of the head injury is still unknown.

Defenseman Dan Girardi was sidelined on Monday due to swelling of the knee. He did not travel on the team’s road trip to Minnesota (Thursday) and Winnipeg (Friday).

Ottawa Senators

Center Curtis Lazar was sidelined on Thursday as the result of a neck injury. Lazar is reportedly feeling better, aside from some soreness in his neck, and is expected to return to play shortly.

Pittsburgh Penguins

Forward Beau Bennett was placed on injured reserve on Tuesday as result of an upper-body injury. Bennett sustained the upper-body injury in the Penguins’ matchup against the Washington Capitals on Monday night, after receiving a hard hit from the Capitals’ TJ Oshie in the first period. He is listed as day-to-day.

Defenseman Kris Letang was placed on injured reserve on Tuesday as the result of an upper-body injury. The nature of Letang’s injury has not been specified.

Goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury was sidelined on Tuesday after being diagnosed with a concussion.  Fleury is expected to miss at least a few weeks as a result, but it is still unclear exactly when or how he received the concussion.

Tampa Bay Lightning

Forward Erik Condra has been moved to the injured reserve list as the result of a lower-body injury; he is day-to-day and is expected to return shortly.

Center Tyler Johnson has also been placed on injured reserve due to an undisclosed injury. The exact nature of Johnson’s injury has not been revealed.

Forward Joel Vermin was sidelined on Tuesday due to a hand injury. Vermin will miss the next six-to-eight weeks.

Toronto Maple Leafs

Center Nick Spaling was sidelined on Thursday after leaving the game against the Sharks after suffering an upper-body injury.

Vancouver Canucks

Center Henrik Sedin was sidelined on Thursday after receiving a lower-body injury in the Canuck’s game against the Flyers on Thursday night. There was no update of Sedin’s injury following the end of the game, but coach Desjardins said that the injury was not a new one.
