Here’s the status of players who suffered injuries during Week 7.

Season Ending Injuries

During what could have been his redemption game, New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith tore his right ACL. Smith was injured during a sack in the second quarter of Sunday’s victory over the Baltimore Ravens. On Wednesday, the team placed the 26-year-old on injured reserve and confirmed his season is finished.

Chicago Bears quarterback Brian Hoyer underwent surgery earlier this week on his broken left arm. Hoyer broke his arm in the second quarter of Thursday night’s loss to the Green Bay Packers. He is expected to be out for eight weeks, but the 1-6 Bears will likely look to utilize the veteran again next season.

The San Diego Chargers’ bad luck continues. The team placed defensive lineman Caraun Reid on season-ending IR. Reid was injured during Sunday’s 33-30 win over the Atlanta Falcons when he tore his left ACL.

According to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, Denver Broncos running back C.J. Anderson has told people close to him that he’s done for the season. Anderson suffered a torn meniscus during Monday night’s victory over the Houston Texans

Key Injuries

While he has not been officially ruled out yet, the Jets could be without center Nick Mangold this week. Mangold sprained his right ankle on Sunday, and according to coach Todd Bowles “it doesn’t look good.” The 11th season veteran was seen limping at Wednesday’s practice, with a boot on his right foot.

Other Injuries to Watch

After leaving Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals in the second quarter with a concussion, Cleveland Browns quarterback Cody Kessler still has not been cleared to start this week against the Jets. On Wednesday, Kessler remained in the league’s concussion protocol and sat out of practice. The team’s other option, Josh McCown, will most likely get the start after he was cleared from his broken collarbone.

Washington Redskins cornerback Josh Norman and tight end Jordan Reed returned to practice on Wednesday after being diagnosed with concussions during Sunday’s loss to the Detroit Lions. Both are still in the NFL’s concussion protocol so their return to practice is not a guarantee that they will play this week.

Packers veteran linebacker Clay Matthews was limited in practice on Thursday. Matthews has been dealing with a hamstring injury but coach Mike McCarthy hopes that the injury isn’t as bad as the one he suffered in Week 2.

LeSean McCoy is also still dealing with a hamstring injury. The Buffalo Bills running back left Sunday’s loss to the Dolphins early. His status for this week is still unknown.

Another running back dealing with hamstring issues is the Falcons Tevin Coleman. Head coach Dan Quinn said he’ll know more about Coleman’s injury in the next couple of days.

Good News

The Browns hope to have wide receiver Corey Coleman back for the Nov. 6 game against the Dallas Cowboys. Coleman returned to practice on Wednesday for the first time in over a month. “He’s getting closer,” said Browns coach Hue Jackson.
