Celtics fans can breathe a huge sigh of relief after finding out point guard Isaiah Thomas would not be suspended for game four of the team’s series against the Atlanta Hawks.  Thomas was assessed a flagrant-one foul after hitting Hawks’ Dennis Schroder in the head.  Schroder was running down the court when Thomas, with his arm already extended, hit him.

Thomas was not charged with a foul on the court and denied that the hit was intentional.  Anyone with the ability to see can tell that the hit was very much intentional, another huge missed call during the first round of the NBA playoffs.  Yesterday, the NBA admitted that referees missed a call on the game-wining shot in the Warriors-Rockets game.  The league admitted an offensive foul should have been called on James Harden before his game winning basket.

Both Thomas and Schroder were given technical fouls after the two continued to argue.  Thomas finished the game a career-high 42 points.  Atlanta leads the series 2-1 with Game 4 set for tomorrow in Boston.
