Everyone is waking up still buzzing about Zach LaVine’s dunks.  Did he save the dunk contest?  No, but he did put on quite a show that did not rely on theatrics, but instead raw athleticism which is something we have not seen in awhile.  LaVine put on quite the show even channeling his inner Michael Jordan with a “Space Jam’ dunk.  Magic Victor Oladipo also had some impressive dunks, including a 540 degree dunk that blew everyone away! Here are some of the highlights from the competition:

The three point contest was also quite intense as it featured all of the great three point shooters currently in the league, including teammates and Splash Brothers Klay Thompson and Steph Curry.  Contestant James Harden was stuck in an elevator on his way to the event, but instead of panic he did what the rest of us would do; take a selfie.  He did make it in time for the competition.

Harden did not make it the final round.  Cavaliers Kyrie Irving and Warriors teammates Steph Curry and Klay Thompson battled it out for the title.  Thompson got the best of round one, but Curry dominated the finals hitting 27 out of 34 of his shots.  After his win Curry said, “I’ve been in it four times, so I wanted to win it and get it done.  And thankfully, tonight I got it, was able to accomplish that.”

For a third straight season, Chris Bosh’s team won the Shooting Stars competition.  Its not too hard to believe when you look at his team.  Bosh is having one of his best seasons and he was paired with WNBA Swin Cash and NBA Hall of Famer Dominique Wilkins.

Rockets Patrick Beverley put on quite a show during the skills competition, coming from behind twice to win the honor.  Skills being tested include dribbling around an obstacle course, accurate passing, shooting a layup and then a 3-pointer. In the final round, it was Beverley against Bucks Brandon Knight who took an enormous lead, but could not make a 3-pointer which allowed Beverley to catch up.
