Nobody predicted either of these teams to be fighting for the SEC Championship. Â Everyone was ready to hand over the title to Nick Saban and Alabama. That was until Auburn pulled off one of the greatest upsets in sports history last week. Â Missouri is also coming off a big win, it was not quite as exciting, against Johnny Manziel and Texas A&M. Â While both of these teams have accomplished more than anyone could ask for, they both still have a bigger goal. Â A bid to the BCS Championship Bowl.
Right now, the matchup would more than likely be Florida State against Ohio State. Â It would be the first time in seven seasons that an SEC team would not win the glass trophy. Â While everyone wants to say it is destiny propelling the Auburn Tigers, it is really their dual running attack. Â Against Alabama, Auburn had 290 yards on the ground between Tre Mason and quarterback Nick Marshall. The Missouri Tigers get the job done with their passing game. Â They have two receivers who have ten touchdowns on the season each.
After last week’s win I am convinced that Auburn is in a groove and will win the SEC Championship today. Â While it is unclear if they will make it to the BCS game, they definitely have a strong case. Â This game will be a close one between two very deserving teams who fought against everyone doubting them. Â Missouri vs. Auburn- who you takin?
