After processing the disturbing video coming out of Piscataway, NJ, it looks like Rutgers University has gone ahead and made the decision to fire head basketball coach Mike Rice.  Video from different practices showed Rice abusing his power as head coach and pushing his players while throwing basketballs directly at them.  Yesterday athletic director Tim Pernetti announced that Rice would stay at Rutgers and serve a 3 game suspension.  It was then implied that Pernetti was taking this too lightly and maybe he needs to lose his job too.  However, he decided to reevaluate the punishment passed down this morning after tremendous pressure from the public.  In a statement, AD Pernetti said, “Moving forward, I will work to regain the trust of the Rutgers community.”  Sounds like he knows he may have lost a lot of respect from the Rutgers community and others for his initial light punishment.  I do not believe that Mike Rice deserves another coaching job anywhere else.
