Michael Strahan is a familiar face for folks in New York City. Â He is a Super Bowl champion with the New York Giants and co-host of “Live with Kelly and Michael” which airs Monday through Friday. He just announced, however, that he will be leaving the show and co-host Kelly Ripa in favor of a full-time role on “Good Morning America”. Â The move was a surprise to all, including Ripa and ‘Live’ executive producer Michael Gelman.
According to TMZ Strahan announced the news to both after filming today’s show. Â The move is sudden that there is no plan for who will replace the Hall of Fame defensive end. Â He joins Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, and Lara Spencer on GMA. Â He will start working in September as a full-time anchor and is expected to remain an analyst on Fox NFL Sunday which airs every Sunday during the NFL season.
