While normally the Mets are insignificant, the team does have a young stud pitcher named Matt Harvey. Â He is currently the hottest pitcher in the game with a 3-0 record and 0.82 ERA. Â Tonight, he will face Stephen Strasburg of the Washington Nationals who has long been considered the best young pitcher in the game. Â The Mets just ended a road trip in which they dropped the last three games in Colorado and could desperately use a win. Â Harvey can be that stopper for a team that is basically in a transition year. Â The Nationals have already made the transition and look like a formidable contender for the playoffs. Â Bryce Harper is emerging into a superstar and has stepped up as a young leader. Â This will be the first time the NL East rivals meet this season.
This is shaping out to be a very exciting pitching duel between two young stars. Â The Mets are looking to bounce back after a very shaky defensive performance in the past few games. Â Hopefully, getting out of the brutally cold weather will help loosen this team up and get them back on pace. Â They will need to play better to have a chance at a win against a very good Washington team. Â Nationals or Mets, who you takin?
